Dr. Oliver Tobin

Dr. Tobin is Professor of Neurology and Chair of Clinical and Translational Research for the Mayo Clinic Center for Multiple Sclerosis and Autoimmune Neurology. An NIH-funded physician-scientist, Dr. Tobin is a founding member of the Mayo Clinic-University of Alabama at Birmingham Histiocytosis Working Group, focusing on neurologic involvement in histiocytic neoplams .

Dr. Tobin is a passionate educator and mentor, guiding neurology trainees with a special interest in histiocytosis through clinical research, case-based learning, and national presentations. He has helped launch the careers of several emerging clinician-investigators in this rare disease space.

His research focuses on germline genetic risk factors, biomarker development and functional assessment in neurologic disorders, including the use of wearable sensors, remote voice monitoring and imaging biomarkers to quantify disability and treatment response. Through his roles in the Histiocytosis Working Group and CMSAN Research Chair, Dr. Tobin continues to bridge clinical care and translational science, improving outcomes for patients with histiocytic neoplasms.
